A recent poll performed by the L. Douglas Wilder School for Public Policy at the Virginia Commonwealth University found that Ralph Northam is leading Ed Gillespie by a 5-point lead. See below for a breakdown on all three statewide races:

Governor’s Race:
Ralph Northam 42%
Ed Gillespie 37%

Lt. Governor’s Race::
Justin Fairfax 43%
Jill Vogel 38%

Attorney General::
Mark Herring 45%
John Adams 39%

The poll was done via phone and they contacted 806 people.

Northam did best with the Northern Virginia area and minority voters, while Gillespie did best with independents and the unemployed.
