Special Elections Set
July 2014
With the resignations of Delegates Bob Brink and Algie Howell special elections have been set for August 19th.

In the 48th House District Delegate Bob Brink resigned after 17 years to take a job with the McAuliffe administration. This Sunday the nominees were chosen for the special election. Richard “Rip” Sullivan was chosen as the democratic nominee. Mr. Sullivan is a lawyer in McLean and has served on the Fairfax County Park Authority board and the Housing and Redevelopment Authority Board. David Foster is the republican nominee. Mr. Foster is the former president of the Virginia Board of Education and former chairman of the Arlington County School Board.

In the 90th House District Delegate Algie Howell resigned to take the position of vice chairman of the state parole board. This Sunday Joe Lindsay an attorney and substitute judge was chosen the democratic nominee. Mr. Lindsay is also the former chief deputy prosecutor in the Norfolk Commonwealth Attorney’s office. Currently there is no republican nominee. The filing deadline is 5:00 p.m. July 7th.
